Little is known about Giorgio M.S. Tavaglione, the esotericist expert in symbols that created the Tarot deck of stars. We know he took inspiration from the Divine Comedy's song where Dante XXI speaks of paradise and of his rise, with Beatrice, the Seventh Heaven of Saturn. Tavaglione, with beautiful illustrations, "tells" the symbolic aspect of evolution-Reinstatement of double spiral (la scala glittering Dante sees rising high in the sky). These Tarot cards are an epitome of archetypes and symbols the scholar uses to embark on a journey into the world of Arcane, channeling all symbolic correspondences with astrology, Alchemy, Numerology and Kabbalah. Tavaglione describes the Tarot as 78 steps leading to the divine.
Minors are adorned with semi Spartans and each of the triumphs is rich in details, 11 encoded symbols including: the components of the astrological chart, the relative position to the angelic hierarchies, information about the tree of life, the Gematric value and the corresponding Hebrew, Sanskrit, Latin and sacred letters of the alphabet. Built in 1970, this beautiful deck of Tarot cards is still very collected by fans.
